How to choose self-tapping screws
1. Use a twist drill to drill holes first and then install self-tapping screws
2. Buy good-quality black iron self-tapping screws, which are relatively hard, and the yellow ones are not hard enough and easy to break.
3. Replace the square or inner torx screws.
Causes of cracks in plasterboard
1. The unstable skeleton of the dragon leads to cracking
When the dragon frame is completed, the flatness is not enough and the structure is unstable, so that when the entire gypsum board is covered, it is not naturally attached to the dragon frame, but the gypsum board itself is twisted under the force of self-tapping screws Fitted on the keel after deformation. Long-term stress imbalances lead to eventual plasterboard deformation and cracking.
2. The expansion ratio at the junction of gypsum board and other materials is not the same, resulting in cracking
The position where the gypsum board and the wall meet is usually made of two materials. Especially when we use the gypsum board ceiling to weaken the beam, we usually ignore the handover treatment between them, and use direct flattening with the bottom surface of the beam, close together, At the same time, the treatment of seams is not detailed enough.
Solution: The gypsum board is directly connected to the beam from the bottom of the beam, and the beam is wrapped in the ceiling without leaving a gap between the beam and the gypsum board. The only disadvantage of this method is that the ceiling needs to be lowered by about 1cm, but usually the distance of 1cm is not obvious.
